Reflection

When I first saw the video, I immediately thought of making of more visual type of game with less coding, which I kind of got off track with as I reworked my movement system and looping system. Which took most of my time, but I do have a new system that I work with, in later games. Also, another big chunk of my time was spent on making the leaves and snow of the winter and fall sections as I wanted to make them unique to give it off that randomness.

This prototype did go through two different ideas, as my first idea was going to be the idea of time passing and everything fading away as the seasons passed but honestly, I felt like it would’ve taken too long, also I think nobody would’ve gotten it (???) since it was rather vague on what the point was other than the visuals you’ll see. It was meant to be colorful at the start until it all turned into a black and white landscape, symbolizing people not appreciating the world around them as they are always focused on their lives. But I don’t really think it was the best representation.

The second idea was for it to be key pressed based, you wouldn’t move but rather you’ll have 4 buttons to press and it’ll basically teleport you there, making the seasons changing instantly but when I thought more about it, it would’ve taken me a lot time and it would've ended in chaos, so I went down a simple path where I mainly did visuals and also a lot of time of me making the falling objects, layering was getting a bit messy too.

Overall, I think I did okay for this week's, I could've done many different things, but I am fine with what I have now.
